So it has taken some time to gather photos, do minor editing, and figure out how best to set up the photo albums, but my Hobbies page is now done.

On this page you will find many photos of my hobbies, some of which have been on display in the office and have received rave reviews. If you want to know more about me, I definitely recommend checking this page out.

Photo Gallery has arrived

It has taken a while to get over the initial fatigue from setting up this site and I have come back to figure out how to set up the photo gallery. It is now up and running with before and after photos of work I have done. At present, you will find 16 different before and after photos of a variety of cases, all of which have descriptions telling a bit about the treatment. And as always, if you have any questions about anything you see here, or elsewhere on the site, please contact us, we are more than happy to help any way we can.

As time goes on, and I remember to take the appropriate photos, I will add more before and after photos to the gallery. When I do, I will make a post here to save you the time of sorting through them to see if there is something new.

White Spots

Many people have white spots on their teeth. They may have been there since the teeth first developed, or appeared later in life as acid attacked the teeth, dissolving away some of the minerals in the tooth (common for people who have had braces). In the past, the only way to treat these white spots has been to grind them away and cover them with bonding or porcelain veneers. Although bonding and veneers can work very well, there is a more conservative option that can work as well, if not better. With the combination of custom trays, whitening, and MI Paste, these white spots can be remineralized and restored to the nice natural color of the surrounding tooth structure. The whitening is used to both “active” the tooth surface to increase its ability to absorb the minerals in the MI Paste, as well as brighten up the surrounding tooth structure to even out the difference in appearance. The MI Paste is used to provide the needed minerals to repair the defective white spots to finish the job. In general, this process works best in cases where the white spots are new (post orthodontic treatment), but can also work for long standing white spots, it will just take longer. Future tubes of MI Paste will continue to be $20. And as always, touch up kits for whitening are only $35. Non-promotion pricing is available to anyone. A new feature to the site is blog entries. Every month a new blog will be posted to answer questions raised by my patients. And seeing as I was able to set up Schau Dental as a place as well as a page, you can write a recommendation that will be shared with others.
